The Gerardot creative team collaborated in naming the restaurant start-up, “The Grainery”, because of the desire to use only high quality, whole-grain breads, grain-fed meats and other fresh ingredients. The owners wanted to create a place where families could go and enjoy food made with fresh wholesome ingredients and the love and care of a home-cooked meal.
Developing a brand from scratch is so much more than naming and designing an identity or logo. This was a case where we were truly starting from square one, and our process was instrumental in delivering an original and distinctive brand. Through diligent research and the painstaking process of developing a creative brief, we had the framework from which to shape the brand’s personality, voice and overall appearance. Gerardot called on creative writer, Ben Seal to help write the story of The Grainery and in so doing, captured the essence and brand language that will be used in all brand communication, including in-store signage, menus, print advertising and eventually radio and television advertisements.
Through a collaborative relationship with Leech Hensley Architects in Indianapolis, Gerardot has been instrumental in designing environmental graphic systems, including interior and exterior signage, menus as well as developing the personality of the restaurant through materials, paint colors and fixtures.
The prototype restaurant hopes to break ground on Amelia Island near Jacksonville, Florida in April 2007 and open soon thereafter in the Summer. Check back to see our progress.
